Hello to you all, we hope you are all well and finding your way in these strange times.

We are busy making plans ready for reopening. Like many other businesses, its not easy trying to plan for the next few months and beyond.
The first thing we need to think about is keeping our customers, family and local community safe.

Our first decision was to only make available our en-suite rooms and our Shepherds’ Huts. In doing so reducing our capacity by over half.

As we take steps forward, as well as following advice from the Government and health and safety advisers, we also look to what other hostels and accommodation providers are doing to plan going forward.
One of OUR key concerns are shared spaces (Lounge and Kitchen for example) and these places obviously cause difficulty with social distancing and cleaning. Some accommodation providers have taken the decision to close these locations for the time being. At the moment we are following this advice also.
This is not a decision we have taken lightly, as we are aware that these places are the heart of the hostel and in terms of the kitchen are needed to cook and make refreshments. Once the government and others have produced their guidelines this week, we will look again at this decision. But going forward we are trying to offer as much to you all as we can, and in a safe manner. So here are some of things we have been busy with….

We realise that our outdoor spaces are going to be popular, for example our internal courtyard which is partly covered, now has more outdoor seating.

To help combat some of the issues that the lack of a self catering kitchen presents we will be offering tea & coffee from 7.30am, homemade breakfasts between 8-9 am.
We will also have BBQ’s for your use in our partially covered courtyard and are busy preparing BBQ packs of Eco- friendly disposable cups and plates.
There is an abundance of takeaways, pubs and other shops close by, so there’s no worry of going hungry!

We will be in a better position to make some decisions once we have heard from the UK Government this week.
